Davenport Schools Interim Superintendent T.J. Schneckloth has contracted the COVID-19 virus. Though he was in the hospital for several days, he was recently released, and a spokesperson said that his condition was not serious. Schneckloth was named as interim superintendent in October, after Superintendent Kobylski was placed on leave.

As COVID-19 cases continue to rise in the Quad-Cities area, that rise is reflected in case numbers within the Davenport Community School District. From October 31 to November 6, 38 individuals within the school district tested positive, but from November 7 to November 13, that number rose much higher. Currently, 80 people have tested positive, 35 people are currently quarantining because of exposure within the district, and 30 new people were placed in quarantine because of exposure within the district. Hopefully, these numbers will get lower as the Davenport School district continues with 100% online learning.
