“Around the World” Homecoming Week 2021

What is homecoming? Homecoming is a tradition in many high schools across the country to welcome new students and to welcome back former students. 

 

This year, homecoming week at Central is the week of the 20th. Parade and a bonfire will take place at McKinley Elementary School at 6:00 pm on Thursday, September 23rd. The homecoming game is against Bettendorf and will take place on Friday the 24th. The dance is at the River Center from 7:00 -10:00 pm on the 25th. Students must arrive by 8:00 pm to be able to enter. Recommended dress is semi-formal, which is short dresses for girls and a tie for boys. Nonbinary, genderfluid, transgender, agender, and genderqueer students may wear whichever of the options they are most comfortable with. 

The week of homecoming is also Spirit Week. The list of days is as follows:

 

Monday – Color Wars;

Freshman: White

Sophomore: Black

Junior: Red

Senior: Blue

Staff: Tie dye

 

Tuesday  – Dress to impress

Dress in your best clothes!

 

Wednesday – Wayback Wednesday

Wear clothes from the past!

 

Thursday – Jersey/Team day

Support your favorite sports teams by wearing their jersey!

 

Friday – Blue Devil spirit day

Dress in red and blue or wear Central High School t-shirts!

 

Homecoming t-shirts for $20 will go on sale next week and will be available before and after school next week in room 415, as well as at lunch.
