Central Loses Footing Against North

Jacob Snider, Sports Editor

On Friday, September 13, our Blue Devils were smacked hard, right off the bat and could not catch their footing against cross town rival, Davenport North. The game consisted of too many mistakes, including three turnovers that resulted in Wildcat touchdowns. Aside from turnovers, Davenport Central’s offensive line was missing blocks, as were the wide receivers, running backs were not hitting their holes, and our defense was not tackling very well or holding their coverage. After the first few mistakes, the Blue Devils started to fall apart and never pulled it back together. The Devils lose 0-37 and move to 1-2. They look to bounce back against the Pleasant Valley Spartans, Thursday, September 19.
