2020 Democratic Candidates
Bernie Sanders (D)
Endorsements: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, current Representative from New York, Ilhan Omar, current representative from Minnesota, The Chicago Maroon, National Union of Healthcare Workers, Young Democrats of America
Platform: Sanders shares many issues with Warren, as well as affordable housing for all, raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour, and allowing felons to vote while incarcerated
Experience: Mayor of Burlington, VT (1981-1989), Representative from Vermont (1991-2007), Senator from Vermont (2007-present)
Other: doesn’t take campaign donations from big corporations, entirely grassroots funded, especially popular with young Democrats
Joe Biden (D):

Platform: affordable health care, ban assault weapons, Clean Energy Revolution plan, rebuild infrastructure/reduce greenhouse gas emissions, lower drug prices

Other: one of the youngest people ever elected to the senate, has been awarded the Presidential medal of freedom with distinction.
Elizabeth Warren (D)

Pete Buttigieg (D):

Tom Steyer (D):

Platform: congressional term limits, establish a national referendum process, make voting more accessible, create a Civilian Climate Corps, universal health care

Michael Bloomberg (D):

Platform: clean energy economy, lower drug prices, ban assault weapons/ more effective background checks, plan to cut homelessness in half by 2025, build on the ACA

Other: has a net worth of $52 billion, campaign is self-funded, ran for mayor as a Republican, but has since switched to the Democratic party
Tulsi Gabbard (D):

Platform: comprehensive immigration reform, OFF Fuels for A Better Future Act, campaign finance reform, reduce mass incarceration, decriminalize marijuana, anti-intervention foreign policy

Deval Patrick (D):

Platform: transportation/infrastructure overhaul, universal Pre-K and free community college, reduce carbon emissions/use biofuels, proponent of LGBTQ rights
Experience: lawyer for the NAACP, assistant attorney general for civil rights (1994-1997), Massachusetts governor (2005-2014)
Other: signed law in 2008 helping to grow use of biofuels in Massachusetts, helped defeat 2007 amendment making same-sex marriage illegal

Donald Trump (R)

Platform: reduce illegal immigration/reform immigration system, lower taxes for individuals and corporations, repealing Obamacare/scale back Medicaid, less involvement in foreign affairs, limit abortion access, boost fossil fuel development, repeal environmental protections
Experience: current President of the United States (2017-present)
Other: currently in the middle of an impeachment trial, considered by many experts to be one of the worst presidents in the history of the U.S.
Bill Weld (R)

Platform: robust guest worker program, rejoin Paris Climate accords, free trade/lower tariffs, cut government spending, cut taxes, support for school choice

Other: has run for office several times as a Libertarian, described more as a fiscal conservative than a social conservative, openly spoken against Trump
Joe Walsh (R):

Platform: opponent of the ACA, allocate more resources towards asylum cases, put economic interests above climate change, pro-life, anti-LGBTQ rights, extending tax cuts
Experience: Representative from Illinois (2010-2010), conservative radio talk show host
Other: supported Trump during 2016 election, but has since become very critical of him, has a history of controversial statements
Other: spent more money on the 2014 and 2016 elections than any other individual donor, ranked #387 on list of 400 richest people in America
