On the morning of September 4, 2024, students arriving to Davenport Central High School were met with the sight of police blocking off 12th Street between Harrison Street and Main Street. Many staff members were posted along the area. The reason for this was that at around 7:06 am, a car hit a pole in front of the school. MidAmerican is on site, and luckily the driver had only minor injuries.
